Coral Pinches

The coral pinches below my feet,

The blue sea calls to the adventurer in me,

I swim towards the horizon's edge,

My goal to see where earth meets sky,

The further I go the further it moves,

A target that kills my will to move,

A thought arises of distant trials,

Is this the striving that will end my life?

Instead I stop and relook ahead,

Some things are worth admiring from far.

So I'll stop this journey of futility today,

And walk on water,

Back home as I glance at the horizon.
