Reality Check

The seasons change as life moves on,

Reality checks that remind the heart,

Of what is now and presently true,

Of simple laughs and joyous times,

I realize I've run so fast,

To reach the finish and win the cup,

But along the way there were good things,

Where I could have stopped and rested more,

But at the new is when it sinks,

That journey not destiny was what it was,

To live more wholly and do the simplest.
