I See a Pattern
I see a pattern of this pain,
It signals my fears and calls them up,
Protects my being by running away,
I dare not say it is in vain,
Fear is healthy in the right place,
My heart falters, My palms sweat,
My voice breaks and I hear my soul,
Saying to stand and do it afraid,
To work and reap through the rain,
To start and look forward to the finish,
To dream and stand straight to win.
