Everyday I Wake
Every day I wake up,
I take for granted this awesome gift,
The lazy way of snoozing my alarm,
The not wanting to get out and do,
I must confront this planted thought,
That work is bad and rest is good,
In moderation everything makes perfect sense,
But sometimes the striving attacks,
And leaves me without a chance,
So exhausted I can only do so much,
That much is the goal for today.
