Edge of Trees

Of the beauty of the universe today,

The edge of trees fascinates me more,

To be part of something but outside,

To long for happiness but see a whiff,

Is it ironic that life brings us so close,

To the desire of hearts just outside my reach,

And it haunts me to think,

Is that desire what I truly want?

Or is the edge a better place to be,

So that I see the forest but can wander away,

I can be and not be and its all great,

We miss what we don't have,

But maybe that isn't the best,

The best is at the edge of trees today.
